Gearing Up

So far every photograph on the site has been shot using a DJI Mini 2. The camera is a 1/2.3” CMOS sensor – basically a good 12 MP camera. This gives us a maximum image size of 4000×3000 pixels at 72 pixel/inch resolution. We shoot to RAW images which are processed using Filmulator. This wonderful little program rocesses RAW images “as if they were film”. I find it gives a smoother, less chunky final image. It also feels more darkroom, which I appreciate. Final levels, colour and sizing are done in Krita or Gimp depending on mood.

Video is 4K with a peak of 30 frames per second and an image size of 3840×2160 pixels. I’m not going to mention what software we’re using because I’m not very happy with the software. That’s also why as of yet there’s no video on the website. It’s coming and it’s gorgeous and there’s ducks doing fly bys and…

It could just be me, the software I’m using is popular and supposed to be grand but it’s just not doing it for me. I’m in linux so if you have any suggestions I’d certainly love to hear them. And before you say it, Davinci won’t run – I’ve got the wrong video card.

I think that’s it, we’re always happy to chat process or take process advice so feel free…
